Vampire Movie Screen Gems – Neverwhere

In the present day of Australia, Priests serve as spiritual leaders and assist people in overcoming great challenges and obstacles on earth. They believe in “submission” to God and are obligated to show mercy to those in need. Some examples of their kindness include providing shelter, food, clothing and emotional support. People realize that they can seek assistance from priests when they are unable to do it themselves by showing kindness.

Michael Fassbender portrays David Collier in Meet The Parents. He is a Priest who was called back to active duty after saving his colleagues’ lives in an attack at school. Returning to regular duty and soon realizes that there is a lot of unfinished business at his own church. After witnessing the murder of his own brother just six years prior and is determined to stop this crime but realizes that vampires pose a bigger threat than criminals. He’s faced with several personal challenges and is determined to carry on his mission even if that requires him to turn against his own followers.

Steve Berry, author of Neverwhere, takes his readers to the fantastic and bizarre location known as Neverland in Australia. After the events in the first novel, the world is facing a new threat from vampires and their ability prey on the weak. moviefree8k David is no longer a hero for his priest and friends, but he’s been branded the hunter. As he joins forces with a reluctant motel clerk the priest in desperate need of help discover the reason why vampires have chosen Neverland as their final resting place.

The storyline of this novel is original however, the film version does follow a few fundamental steps. The story begins with a series vignettes showing the spiritual underpinnings of most vampires. These vignettes reveal the way vampires view human life and how they safeguard it. Although most of the characters in the film are human, they aren’t completely innocent and are often involved in questionable activities. However, this doesn’t detract from the overall message of hope or the belief that there are things greater than man that can bring peace to the world and keep bad things away from mankind.

Similar to the book series, the movie Neverwhere faithfully follows the story of priest characters’ quests to fight evil creatures of all shapes and sizes. While the story is different in structure but the message of triumph over evil and hope was evident throughout. The film features famous scenes from horror films where the characters battle with vampires. In the adaptation of the film they also use certain movie monsters like the Vanquishtles. In addition to the usual monster movie elements, Neverwhere added some innovative elements which made the movie even more enjoyable to watch.


Priest is a great vampire movie screen gem because of the outstanding acting performances by Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Aniston. Kingsley plays the role a religious zealot who becomes an unwavering follower of the Count Dracula. He embarks on a quest to fight evil before the transformation into a vampire and begins spreading his brand of hatred and fear across Europe. Jennifer Aniston portrays a young girl who falls in love with a vampire in the movie. While the two characters are romantically linked, there are a touch of humor between them as well as the overall theme of love and faith.

In some ways, Neverwhere is similar to the Twilight Saga. There is a group of vampires who are threatening to take over the world and wipe out humanity. The main characters of the book are Dr. Van Helsing and Fatherolas, work together to stop the vampires from taking over the world. The film is set in London during Van Helsing’s time dealing with the many vampire attacks happening across the city. There are also many other interesting characters including Van Helsing’s father as well as Van Damme’s character.

It was not surprising though when we learned that Michael Fassbender will be playing the priest role in the upcoming sequel to Twilight. Although this is a confirmed fact it was a long-running speculation. Michael Fassbender will play Edward Cullen, the vampire love interest of Bella Swan in the Twilight movies. His contribution is particularly meaningful because of his long-time association with the role of the vampire. The role of a vampire performed by an actor already established in the world of Hollywood is a major coup for Twilight fans everywhere.
